Professional Development Plan

I visited www2.scholastic.com, this web site has so much information. The home page alone has tone of information for everyone, students, parents, and teachers. I went to teacher resources. This page has anything that the teacher would imagine: lesson plans, strategies, tools, printable, for new teachers, free programs, giveaways, and ideas for your classroom. I think that this is a great web site for all teachers they can come and get different ideas that they can incorporate in their own classrooms. It is important for teachers to keep their students attention while still learning in the classroom. I think that I will use this web site when I become a teacher, I enjoyed seeing all the different information that is provided on this web site. I will start using this web site as a parent, also.

I would like to learn more about....

web sites like this one, different things that I can take to my classroom, free programs, being organized, and managing time in my classroom.

Professional Development Plan

I visited http://www.pbs.org. This is very interesting information I learned, I had gone on this website before but I had no idea that they had PBS TeacherLine. I had gone on this website with my daughter to play games, which are very educational. TeacherLine offers graduate-level courses on reading, language arts, mathematics, instructional technology, instructional strategies, and science. This site helps the teachers gain more knowledge and it helps out the schools. The teachers will have better teaching methods that they acquire by the graduate courses, so the students will learn more.

How will this site help me help my students?
How will this site improve my understanding?
What other sites like this are there?
Will I be able to get my masters on line?

Professional Development Plan

I visited http://www.edutopia.org. This site had a lot of information on what works in public education. They had a lot of information like videos, magazines, blogs, and a lot of different tools that a teacher can use in their classrooms. I read the article on "Why is teacher development important?". http://www.edutopia.org/teacher-development-introduction This article talked about how important it was for the teacher preparation programs to have hands on in classrooms. Having a mentor once they are teaching, and how it is very important for veteran teachers to have professional development. To help them be up to date on how students learn, and learning how to implement technology into their classrooms.

Other things that I would like to know more about...
technology in classrooms,
programs students could also use at home,
programs for teachers,
hands on project to do with the students.

Professional Development Plan

about..... different activities to do with the children on all the topics like math, social studies, reading, writing. Getting the children different websites where they could peruse all these different topics too, so they can continue at home. I think that will be fun for the students as well as for the teacher.

Professional Development Plan

I visited http://www.iste.org/ which is The International Society for Technology in Education. ISTE provides leadership and service to improve teaching, learning, and school leadership by using technology in PK–12 and teacher education. They have different programs for teachers as well as for children. This is a good step towards education, since the children are using computers. I read the about, advocacy, and the educator resources on the main page.
